Jill Hoffman, the force behind Granny May's, worked her way up from dishwasher to executive dining room caterer and private chef. Along the way she majored in dietetics, worked as a nutrition instructor for the University of Minnesota, and worked in food and nutrition for Allina Health.
Who was Granny Mae? On a trip to Ireland, Jill discovered this remarkable woman whom everyone called Granny Mae. She was as regal as the Queen yet with a bold country flair. She had that “joie de vivre” that embraced the importance of food, family, and good living. “Here was a woman who lived my values,” says Jill. “Meeting her changed my life and inspired this business.”
